PALESTINIAN CHILDREN IN LEBANON -
BOOK APPEAL
Fatima Abu Salem is organising an appeal on behalf of Palestinian children in Lebanon. Life for those in refugee camps in Lebanon is very challenging. See a local news article.
Fatima hopes to establish a mobile library to introduce children to the joys of reading (and listening to) stories. She and fellow volunteers from the American University of Beirut have recently held their first story telling session at Bourj El Barajneh Camp.
She is particularly keen to receive books for very young children, between 0-4 years, although books for older children will be appreciated too.

HER REGARDS
In a letter to the Chairman & Founder of Children of Peace, Julia Gillard - the Prime Minister of Australia has sent her personal regards to the supporters of Children of Peace and wishes "...the organisation all the best in your endeavours."
HOW YOU CAN HELP CHILDREN OF PEACE
In recent months we have been overwhelmed and greatly moved by the generosity of many individual donors who have contributed funds towards our work for the children and for peace in Israel and Palestine.
We have received donations from Islamic societies, from Jewish student bodies, from Quaker groups, from nurseries and kindergartens, from student unions and from individual supporters.
One supporter raised funds from a cycling marathon, another by cooking lunches for work colleagues and one young mother arranged a tea party for all the mothers in her neighbourhood and sent us a generous donation. We receive a percentage of sales from "Crossing Qalandiya" - written by Israeli Daniela Norris and Palestinian Shireen Anabtawi and most touching of all - we were sent a donation - in memory of the donor’s grandparents, who recently received part of an insurance payment for their German grandparents who perished in the Holocaust.
The donor wrote:
" This amount goes out into the world and enriches it before coming back to me multiplied."
We gratefully thank this act of generosity.
